He was formerly on the Johnson County Board of Equalization for 7 years and has a working knowledge of real estate tax rules and regulations. Van was also on the Clarksville Regional Economic Development Organization for 10 years after being appointed by a past Clarksville mayor, and served his last two years as Chairman/President of that group. He is currently a member of the City of Clarksville’s economic development group, known as CEDA, and was appointed to that position by the current mayor, David Reider.
Van has also been a member of the Clarksville Rotary Club for 25 years and has served in all leadership capacities within that organization. He put together many notable commercial projects, including the Loves Travel Center at Exit #57, the Medical Marijuana facility at Exit #55, Whataburger at Exit #58, and numerous retail and service businesses in both Lamar and Clarksville.
